ACCV 2009: Instructions for submission of final manuscript

Deadline: Aug. 15, 2009

Visit Final Manuscript Submission page to upload the following items.

(a) Completed copyright form.

The template of the form can be downloaded via here .
Please insert your manuscript information and your signature to the form, and upload the scanned form as an electric file. The copyright form with digital signatures is also acceptable.

In the copyright form, the following two items should be given as:

  • Title of the Book/Volume/Conference: ACCV 2009
  • Volume Editor(s): Hongbin Zha, Rin-ichiro Taniguchi, Stephen Maybank

A scanned version of the copyright form (PDF-format) has to be submitted together with the final paper, see below.

(b) Source (input) files of the final manuscript which are compressed into a zip file.

The author kit for final manuscripts is different from that for initial submissions (essentially, it is non-anonymous and therefore contains the full names and the affiliations of the authors). The zip file should include all the source files of your manuscript, which should be prepared according to the authors instructions given by Springer.

For detailed instructions for preparing those two items, visit
http://www.springer.com/computer/lncs?SGWID=0-164-7-72376-0
and follow ^For Authors ̄ -> ^Information for LNCS Authors ̄ section.

http://www.springer.com/cda/content/document/cda_downloaddocument/word.zip?SGWID=0-0-45-72919-0 { word.zip (zip, 144 kB) } (It is possible, but discouraged, to use other systems for the preparation of papers, e.g. MS-Word.)

Note:

Papers accepted for the conference will be allocated 10 pages in the proceedings, with the option of purchasing up to 2 extra pages for RMB 685 per page (to be paid after paper acceptance at the time of registration for the conference.) So, if you are unwilling or unable to pay the extra charge you should limit yourself to 10 pages. Otherwise the page limit is 12 pages.

Please note that the source files will be used for generating the final proceeding by Springer. Springer enters into the source files to insert running heads, final page numbers and a reference line at the bottom of the first page of each paper, and also to smooth out any capitalization and formatting inconsistencies. This means that Springer use the final pdfs from the authors for checking purposes only. As a result, the style of your final manuscript may slightly change, and page numbers may also change, because Springer will re-edit for final publication.

Therefore, we ask the authors to read the instructions provided by Springer carefully. Please do not reduce the paper length e.g. by reducing vertical spaces between paragraphs or the line space, as this will be corrected by Springer, possibly resulting in an increase of the paper length. To avoid any problem, we strongly recommend using the LaTeX template (even though word template or other templates are also provided by Springer) and follow its formatting instructions. This is also valid for bibliographic references: Springer may correct them if they don't follow the required format, possibly resulting in an increase of paper length. In some case, Springer may contact with the corresponding author for editing purpose.

If you want to modify the title or authors, update the author list in your camera ready manuscript and input the new author list in " contact.txt ". We will use the new author list in the TeX file.

We need all the source files (LaTeX files, style files, special fonts, figures, bib-files, Word or RTF files) that are required to compile papers, as well as the final PDF of every paper. For each paper, one ZIP-file has to be prepared and submitted via the ACCV 2009 Submission Website. In short, the ZIP-file has to contain the following:

  • All source files, e.g. LaTeX2e files for the text, PS/EPS or PDF/JPG files for all figures.
  • Any further style files and fonts you may have used
  • Final DVI file (for papers prepared using LaTeX/TeX)
  • Final PDF file (for reference)
  • RTF files (for word-processing systems other than LaTeX/TeX)
  • A scanned version of the signed copyright form, in PDF-format (see above)
  • Supplemental material. No images, PDFs or text files will be accepted: i.e., supplemental material must be a video.
  • A text file named "contact.txt" containing the following information, in that order:
    • Name and email address of a corresponding author (author who will be contacted for proof-reading, see below).
    • For each author, in the order in which authors appear on the paper: Full family name(s), full first name(s), email address, affiliation (name of institute as it should appear in the conference programme, not the full address). Please separate these 4 items by ",".

Author names: Please write out author names in full in the paper, i.e. full first and family names.

[Optional] Supplemental material: It is possible to provide supplemental material to each paper; this will be accessible together with the paper in the online ACCV proceedings at SpringerLink . Only one supplemental file per paper may be provided. No images, PDF's or text files will be accepted: supplemental material should be a video or a 3D model for example. The file size is limited to 30MB.
