Short Biography

Dr. Gang Zeng obtained his B.S. degree from School of Mathematical Sciences at Peking University in 2001, and his Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Prof. Long Quan at Computer Vision and Graphics Group in Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2006.

He worked with Prof. Luc Van Gool as a postdoc research fellow in BIWI Computer Vision Laboratory in Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at ETH Zurich from 2006 to 2008.

He is an associate professor with tenure at Key Laboratory on Machine Perception (Ministry of Education) in Department of Machine Intelligence in School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science at Peking University.

By the end of 2014, he has published 37 peer-reviewed papers, including 16 papers in top two computer vision conferences (i.e. CVPR, ICCV) and top two computer vision journals (i.e. PAMI, IJCV), and 3 papers in SIGGRAPH. The h-index is 16 and the citations reaches 1210 according to Google Scholar.

He served as an editorial board member of Neurocomputing, the program chair of the 7th Joint Workshop on Machine Perception and Robotics 2011, the program committee member of the Asian Conference on Pattern Recognition 2011 and the International Conference on Computer-Aided Design and Computer Graphics 2013, and the organizing committee member of the 9th Asian Conference on Computer Vision 2009, the Workshop on Computer Vision 2009, and the International Symposium on Machine Perception and Cognition 2010.

He is also the assistant director of the MOE-Microsoft Key Laboratory of Statistics and Information Technology of Peking University, and the panelist of the Digitized Nuclear Power Engineering Construction Virtual Simulation Laboratory and Cooperation Platform of the National Energy Nuclear Power Engineering Construction Technology Research and Development Center.
